The LifeGrip Car Handle is a support handle designed to assist with getting in and out of a vehicle. It is not a medical device, mobility aid substitute, or driving accessory, and it does not modify or interact with your vehicle's steering, brakes, or controls.
Improper installation or use — including use on an incompatible or damaged door striker, or exceeding the stated weight capacity — can result in the handle detaching or slipping, which may cause a fall and injury.
Do not use this product until you have read this notice in full and confirmed the handle is correctly and securely installed.
INTENDED USE
This product provides an additional hand grip when entering or exiting a vehicle, by anchoring into the vehicle's door striker (the metal loop the door latch clips onto).
It is a supplementary aid, not a replacement for any mobility device, walking aid, or professional medical equipment. If you have a significant mobility limitation, consult your doctor, physiotherapist, or occupational therapist before relying on this or any single product for support.
Not recommended for: use as a step, ladder, or climbing aid; use on a moving vehicle, or before the vehicle is fully stopped and parked; use by children, or as a toy; use on a door striker that is damaged, worn, rusted, or loose.
WEIGHT LIMIT
The manufacturer states a maximum load capacity of up to 400 lbs (181 kg). We have not independently load-tested this figure, and actual holding strength depends on correct installation, the condition of your vehicle's door striker, and the angle at which weight is applied.
Do not rely on the stated maximum as a guarantee. Apply weight gradually and stop immediately if you feel any movement, give, or instability.
INSTALLATION WARNING
Before each use: fully extend the handle and lock it into the door striker; give it a firm tug to confirm it is securely seated before applying body weight; do not use if the handle does not seat firmly, wobbles, or the striker plate shows visible damage or wear.
Not all vehicles and door strikers are the same shape or size. Confirm the handle seats securely on your specific vehicle before relying on it — do not force it into a striker it does not fit properly. This product is designed for standard car doors. It may not provide a stable or comfortable grip angle on larger vehicles such as SUVs, trucks, or vans — check the fit and angle on your specific vehicle before relying on it for support.
Installation and fit are the user's responsibility. If you are unsure whether the handle is correctly and safely installed, do not use it.
ADDITIONAL FEATURES
Some versions of this product include a hardened tip intended to assist in breaking a vehicle window in an emergency. This feature has not been independently tested by us and should not be treated as a certified or guaranteed emergency tool. Do not rely on it as your only emergency escape plan.
